Test Sets

UsabilityHub has two types of sets: Sequential sets and Variation sets. Sequential sets are multiple tests taken in the order you set and Variation sets allow you to run the same test with slight differences within each test.

Sets are available on the basic, pro, and team plans.

Sequential sets

To recruit participants from your audience to take multiple tests in a row, create a sequential set.

How to create a sequential set:
  1. From your dashboard navigation select + Add next to Sets
  2. Type in a name for the set and confirm Sequential set is selected
  3. Select tests you want to include and drag them into your preferred order
  4. Enter a custom thank-you message to be shown after the tests are completed
  5. If desired, enter a redirect URL where we will send participants after completing the tests
  6. Save
Sharing your Sequential set

Like individual tests, each Sequential set has a unique link you can share with your audience to direct them to take each of your tests in a row. Toggle on and copy this link from the  Recruit testers tab of your set.

Participants can complete each test once. If they revisit the link they will be directed to the next test that they haven't completed, if there is one.
To request demographic information from participants, turn  on  request demographics  from the Recruit Testers tab of your set. Information collected will be available with results: age, country, gender, and education level.
Ordering responses from the UsabilityHub panel for Sequential sets is not available at this time.

Variation sets

Variation sets allow you to run the same test on different versions of a design, or multiple tests on the same design and ensure that all participants across all tests in the set are unique. This ensures that participants have not seen the design before, so will not be biased by previous tests.
This is great for iterating on a design or testing variations to see which performs best.
How to create a Variation set:
  1. Click make a variation from your preferred test
  2. Give your variation set a name
  3. Click Copy variation and create variations
  4. Save changes
Sharing your Variation set

Similar to other tests, a Variation set has a unique link you can share with your audience to direct them to take a test from your set. Toggle on and copy this link from the  Recruit testers tab of your set.

Recruits who visit this link will be taken to one random variation. We'll try to split them evenly across variations. Your recruited participants will only be allowed to participate in one of the tests in this set, whether they revisit the set's recruitment link or visit the recruitment link of any test in the set.

To request demographic information from participants, turn  on  Request demographics  from the  Recruit Testers tab of your set. Information collected will be available with results: age, country, gender, and education level.
Ordering responses for your variations from the UsabilityHub panel
Ordering responses from the UsabilityHub panel for Variation sets is not available at this time, but you can order responses for each test individually from the Recruit Participants  tab of your test. Panelists who have already participated in any of the tests in that variation set will not be able to participate.
Note that this restriction can affect order delivery times if you order many responses (or from niche demographics) for tests within a variation set.
